We began with a dream....

In 1949, a group of twenty South Bay musicians had a dream. They dreamed of forming a symphony orchestra that would bring the very best of classical music to the people of their community through free public concerts. They hoped that their performance would attract all lovers of fine music including the very young, the very old, working people, people with families, and especially folks shut out of the concert hall because they could not afford the price of a ticket. The Beach Cities Symphony Association, a Californian non-profit corporation, was created to support those founding players and to help make their dream come true.
